As we enter a new year it makes me reflect on my designing journey and the future. First things first, my love of designing western wear was formed in my adulthood, but I think part of it goes way farther back. I think back to my days as a kid in a small town. Picking wildflowers, climbing trees, running around with horses… It was simply beautiful!
That was a simple time, and when things are simple you really get to take your time to look around. And I think that’s where it all started! A designer is only as good as her designs, right? Well, thanks to my design mentors and my experience of a life lived western, I’ll never lose that ability to look around and see the beauty this world has to offer.
That’s where the aesthetics of my love of western wear come from. I mentioned at the start that I didn’t really come to know this part of me until later in life, and that’s true! My inspiration goes all the way back to being that little country girl. However, my designing is mostly geared for women. It’s important for us to feel good about how we look and the clothes that we wear.
Personally, I reached a point in my life where I knew I needed to find my passion and take a leap!
I needed to fly, and find the wind under my wings as I flew.
I realized I could take all my passions, experiences, and creativity, put them together, and turn it into a business! This business has been SO fulfilling, and I’m flying!
That’s where I found it: my love for designing western wear!
By throwing myself into it up to my ears! It’s the perfect combination of everything important to me. I can use it to show my memories, inspire other young girls out there picking wildflowers, and bring a little more country into the world.
It is a simpler life, and it’s a better one for it. It’s mine, and so many other people’s, and has been for a long, long time. I expect it’ll continue for a long, long time!
I am also proud to fill a need for comfortable, well-made clothing that is pretty to look at. My hope is that each customer feels that they look great wearing my designs. Everyone deserves to feel great in their clothes.
And with a little luck, after me there’ll be another strong woman grown from a wide-eyed little girl to keep sharing it with the world with two of the best things: love, and creativity.
